In 2011, Multi-Tech, a manufacturer of unified communications solutions, introduced a new fax server, the FaxFinder IP fax server. The FaxFinder IP fax server is designed to integrate with an IP-based work environment and industry-leading FaxFinder fax routing software. The solution reduces costs while enhancing productivity by sending and receiving faxes using existing email and network resources.
By adding the FaxFinder IP to its conventional FaxFinder fax server, Multi-Tech offers an efficient faxing solution for most business types and work environments. The FaxFinder IP features allow companies to experience significant cost-savings with increased employee productivity, often achieving return on investment in weeks and saving thousands of dollars each year in comparison to web-based subscription fax services.
The T.38 protocol of the FaxFinder IP supports compliance to industry-specific regulations from electronic medical records (EMRs) to real estate to legal documents. The FaxFinder IP provides distributed faxing capability over a wide-area network (WAN), from a corporate office to small remote offices, or to field sales people. Inbound faxes are delivered to a recipient’s in-box or a network folder, or printed on a network printer. Outbound faxes can be sent by web client or through Microsoft Office applications. Employees can access corporate and personal contacts folders from applications such as Microsoft Outlook and click one button to send a fax.
Seamlessly compatible with a wide range of PBX systems, including Avaya, Mitel and ShoreTel, the FaxFinder IP fax server is a scalable solution that grows with the needs of the customer. The FaxFinder IP two-channel model is field upgradeable to four, six or eight channels and leverages the existing Multi-Tech FaxFinder client software and Web Services API.
Multi-Tech Systems had previously offered a FaxFinder time-division multiplexed (TDM) fax-to-email server that allows faxes to be sent and received from a desktop computer that may be running Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft PowerPoint. The FaxFinder is a turnkey solution that connects to a PBX’s analog ports and is capable of DID to DTMF conversion. It converts faxes to PDF or TIFF files allowing users to send faxes from any application that can print and receive faxes as e-mails.
FaxFinder and FaxFinder IP both integrate with third-party applications through a web services API. Developers can find resources and information on the FaxFinder’s Web-Services API at multitech.net, a developer community created by the Multi-Tech engineering team.
